Programmer

I’m a programmer by trade, but even if I did something else for a living, I would still be up late at night and on the weekends programming, because I love it THAT much. I consult through my company Datawin Consulting.  You can check out my Linked In page too if you like.  I also post little tips and tricks that I’ve learned along the way on my programming blog, C#+. Here are some of my personal business sites: www.discountupccodes.com – This site sells upc codes for people like amazon sellers who need the cheapest upc codes on the web.  2 clicks and you have your UPC Codes immediately sent to your paypal account email. www.textbooklook.com – Web/phone app that helps book sellers to buy textbooks cheap during the off season and sell them for the most profit during textbook season. www.strhelper.com – Allow cities and counties to manage short-term rental licensing ....

Woodturner

I can’t say I’ve always loved the smell of sawdust, especially on Saturday mornings when I’d rather be watching cartoons than helping my dad in the woodshop (i.e. our garage).  But I learned a lot and my pinewood derby cars always smoked the other scouts (I guess not everyone’s dad was a shop teacher). A few years ago I mentioned to my wife off-handedly, “I think my ‘old man’ hobby will be woodturning and furniture building”.  “That’s cool,” said she.  Little did I know, she immediate called my dad and said, “what kind of lathe should I buy Kenny for Christmas?”.  So before I was even old enough to have an “old man” hobby, there I was with my brand new Jet mini-lathe.  I was hooked.  I’ve since graduated to a full-size woodturning lathe and whenever I have a free block of 4 hours, you can usually find me out in my woodshop (i.e. our garage) making a whole pile of woodshavings. Some of my woodworking can be seen at my Jacobson Woodcraft website. I also have a small little site devoted to my Persian...

Musician

When I was 10 years old, I bought my first records with my own money: Styx “Paradise Theater” and The Who’s “Face Dances”.  But I have memories  that go much further back of me listening to The Supremes, Buddy Holly, and CCR on my parent’s record player.  At 11 years old I received my first guitar and the world of listening to music, suddenly became the world of playing music. I started playing and writing songs with my first high school garage bands, Rat Salad, Sasquatch Dung, and Sidewalk Apache. With my college band Picture This, we actually started getting paid to play (a definite bonus!) and we even put out a CD.  After college I struggled to put together a few bands (The Others, Silver, The Slappy Hooper Orchestra), but there where short-lived.  I ended up putting out a solo album with some of that material and other stuff I had written since.  Finally, in 2003 I found the right group of guys and we just clicked.   Johnny 99 was born.  We played the Sunset Strip clubs, tour the Britain and Ireland twice and put out an EP.  We all settled down a bit of late, but if you’re lucky you can still find us playing around So...
