When I was 10 years old, I bought my first records with my own money: Styx “Paradise Theater” and The Who’s “Face Dances”.  But I have memories  that go much further back of me listening to The Supremes, Buddy Holly, and CCR on my parent’s record player.  At 11 years old I received my first guitar and the world of listening to music, suddenly became the world of playing music.

I started playing and writing songs with my first high school garage bands, Rat Salad, Sasquatch Dung, and Sidewalk Apache. With my college band Picture This, we actually started getting paid to play (a definite bonus!) and we even put out a CD.  After college I struggled to put together a few bands (The Others, Silver, The Slappy Hooper Orchestra), but there where short-lived.  I ended up putting out a solo album with some of that material and other stuff I had written since.  Finally, in 2003 I found the right group of guys and we just clicked.   Johnny 99 was born.  We played the Sunset Strip clubs, tour the Britain and Ireland twice and put out an EP.  We all settled down a bit of late, but if you’re lucky you can still find us playing around So Cal.
